Mr. Wolfston presented an overview of CollegeNet, along with his personal philosophy for business success. The number one objective for CollegeNet as a company is happy customers. Happy customers buy more and make recommendations to others. Mr. Wolfston believes it is not that we are necessarily in the Information Age, but in the Learning Age. He feels that customers will do more with vendors who have imagination.
Patrick Carmody stated it is the goal of CollegeNet to set good expectations with their customers to help customers achieve success. Part of that is to understand how Maricopa intends to use Resource 25. Pat also shared that the Annual Resource 25 Users Group Conference will be held in Portland, OR, July 2004, for anyone interested in attending.
Jim DeVere explained that Maricopa purchased unlimited licenses for unlimited users of the Resource 25 and Schedule 25 product as well as an interface that will allow information to freely flow between R25 and the new PeopleSoft Student Administration (SA) product Maricopa will implement as their Student Information System (SIS). We will also need to identify that business processes are in place to support the work the colleges need to perform. Priority, not ownership, needs to be identified and established for R25; this will allow Maricopa to maximize the use of its vital, precious few facility resources. Jim explained that Phase 1 of the Resource 25 project would concentrate on internal and external event scheduling as well as event marketing. Phase 2 will look at how we utilize R25 and the SA class schedule.
Several questions were asked related to the product as well as how the project will proceed.
A CollegeNet reference list was requested, which Pat (Carmody) agreed to provide. Barbara Matus will be the reference contact for CollegeNet.
A planning meeting will be arranged to discuss project next steps. Some items to identify are as follows:
When will CGC move over to Resource 25, version
3.2?
Who should be involved with this project at the colleges?
Who are the stakeholders?
