Terms at MCCD
Numbering Terms at MCCD – Within the new Student Information System, the word “term” refers to a specific semester for student enrollment. It is a high level key, used to define the search for a particular record. The four-digit numerical scheme replaces the five-digit semester used in the Legacy system. The naming convention for the term is designed to be somewhat intuitive to the user as outlined below.

For example, Term 4076 is Fall semester, 2007. The term/semester code for historical data converted from Legacy prior to 2000 will begin with the number 3. The Lookup located to the right of the term field allows the user to search for the appropriate semester. The results will display the term number and description.
